ACDA Membership Testimonial

"I happened to run into my college choir professor and voice teacher, Dr. Conan Castle, from my time as a student at CMSU, now UCM, the other day.  During our conversation, he remarked that he had recently attended a choral concert in western Missouri that was conducted by a gentleman about whom he had no prior knowledge.  I commented that whenever this happens to me, the first thing I do is look at the MCDA website to see if that person's name is on the membership list.  At least as far as I'm concerned, that detail immediately tells me how serious a person is about our profession.  Dr. Castle and I continued to talk about ACDA and how important it is.  I told him it was initially because of his insistence back in the 1980's that I became a student member, and after concluding 30 years in education, I still think it's necessary to belong even though I'm no longer a full-time public school music teacher.  The value and impact of this organization continues to strengthen with each passing year.  We are so fortunate to have such a strong chapter here in Missouri.  Thanks to all of our members, past and present, for making it that way.  Long live ACDA and MCDA!" -- Sally Kirchhoff
