College Students: Free Rooming Opportunity

Calling all college students!  We are excited to announce that beginning March 1st, free rooming will be available to the first four women and the first four men who register online for the 2012 MCDA Conference AND who make note in their online registration that they are willing to help move equipment July 17th or July 20th.  This is a great opportunity to cut the cost of the conference, meet new friends and have some fun stories to take away.

SWACDA Middle School Reading Session List available on JW Pepper

Middle School - Elizabeth McFarland

If you aren't able to make it to the SWACDA convention in Dallas in a few weeks, you can still take part in experiencing the music that will be featured in the Middle Level reading session.

JW Pepper has the entire list available in one place, and many have perusal pages and listening examples.

Happy Listening!

Opportunity for Childrens Choirs

I recently received some information about a performance opportunity for childrens ensembles. It's pretty short notice with a February 15 deadline, but you might want to check out the details. Here is the message I received from Bridget Zimmermann:

My name is Bridget Zimmermann and I am writing as the Children's Performances Coordinator for the National American Orff Schulwerk Association's (AOSA) Professional Development Conference which will be held in St. Louis on November 14-17, 2012.

The deadline has been extended and we are still accepting applications for children performance groups interested in performing during the November, 2012 national AOSA conference. Ensembles of all sizes that sing, dance, play instruments, and exemplify the teachings of Carl Orff are highly sought; however, all applications will be considered.

If you are interested in applying, please download the application form here:

All applications must be postmarked by February 15, 2012 and applicants will be notified by approximately March 15, 2012.

If you have any questions or need more information, please do not hesitate to contact me at bridgetzimmermann@gmail.com or call 314-359-1097. Thank you for considering this extraordinary performance opportunity for your ensemble.
