Interlude Award
The Missouri Choral Directors Association Interlude Award will be presented to one exceptional member who has made significant contributions to the choral music community, demonstrating outstanding directing in the classroom and/or rehearsal setting, performance, and leadership within the state of Missouri. The recipient of this award will exemplify the highest standards in choral education and service to the profession.
CRITERIA

Nominees must be current active or life members of MCDA with at least 8 years of experience as a full-time choral director.

Demonstrates excellence in the teaching and performance of choral music in Missouri, showcasing successful outcomes with students and ensembles.

Exhibits a professional demeanor in interactions with music colleagues and others in the choral community.

Has demonstrated sustained service and involvement in MCDA and in the broader choral music community through active participation, leadership, and advocacy.

Displays potential for continued excellence and a long-term commitment to choral music education and performance, with a proven track record of inspiring students and peers alike.
SELECTION PROCEDURES:

Initial nominations will be solicited from any current active/retired/life member of MCDA.

To complete the nomination the submitting member must include:

A brief biographical sketch of the nominee.

A letter of nomination from a current MCDA member.

Two letters of support from other MCDA members, showcasing the nominee's contributions and impact.

The elected members of the MCDA Executive Board will serve as the selection committee for reviewing nominations/selecting the recipient and therefore are ineligible to be nominated.

Nominations may be resubmitted in subsequent years, but are NOT automatically carried forward for future consideration.
This award acknowledges outstanding choral directors whose sustained dedication to the art and profession has made a lasting impact on their students, peers, and the choral music community at large.
