Prelude Award
This award will be presented annually to one outstanding member of the Missouri Choral Directors Association in accordance with the following criteria:

Nominee is a current member of MCDA in 1st through 7th years of contractual experience as a full-time choral director

Demonstrates success in the teaching and performance of choral music in Missouri

Demonstrates a professional demeanor in interactions with music colleagues

Demonstrates potential as an exemplary professional with an extended career in choral music

Demonstrates a spirit of service and involvement through active participation in MCDA and choral music in general
Selection Procedures: Nominations will be solicited from the general membership of MCDA:

Nominees must be current members of MCDA in 1st through 7th years of contractual experience as a full-time choral director

Nominations must include a brief biographical sketch of the nominee along with a letter of nomination from a current member of MCDA and a letter of support from an administrator or supervisor recommending the nominee;

The elected members of the Executive Board of the Missouri Choral Directors Association shall serve as the selection committee reviewing the nominees;

Elected Members of the MCDA Executive Board are ineligible to be nominated for this award;

Nominations may be resubmitted for the duration of the eligibility period (1-7 years), but are not automatically carried forward for future consideration
